Episode 76 opens with a springtime check-in from Puyallup. The host talks about cottonwood, pollen, a new spin bike, getting rid of a broken elliptical, and trying to build more exercise into the morning routine.

The host gives a shout out to Puyallup lacrosse and reflects on how fun the sport looks for kids. He also remembers playing a gym-class version of lacrosse as a kid and talks about the value of having more local youth sports options.

Youth baseball is a major focus of the episode. The PCR Giants won their first tournament game, likely by a score of 12 to 4, after a nervous start against a strong pitcher with a high release point and a difficult downward angle.

The host walks through key moments from the game, including early walks, the team's first hit, a close play at the plate, and a slide rule that ended up helping the Giants. He explains that the rule is mainly about safety and avoiding collisions at this age.

The episode also looks ahead to the next tournament game. The Giants are in a double-elimination tournament and have a chance to reach the championship with another win. The host says the team has strong pitching depth and a real chance if they can get a few clutch hits.

Coaching and parent behavior are also discussed. The host reflects on why it is better for players to receive one clear source of instruction during games and asks parents to keep the sideline positive while letting the coaches do the coaching.

Pierce College events are previewed, including Food and Fadwa at the Black Box Theatre, a choir concert on June 13, a chamber orchestra concert on June 12, and a wind ensemble concert on June 16. Listeners are encouraged to visit the episode page for links and details.

Local high school sports are also covered. The host congratulates Puyallup baseball for beating Emerald Ridge 4 to 2 and advancing to the state tournament. Puyallup is scheduled to play Gonzaga Prep in Yakima on Saturday, May 23.

The host also talks about fastpitch softball, with Rogers and Puyallup playing at Columbia Playfields in Richland. He shares a personal memory of going there as a kid, eating red licorice, playing on the playground, and listening to Mariners games.

The value-for-value model is revisited. The host explains that the point of the show is to help build community and asks listeners to think about how they can add value back into Puyallup through their time, talents, or support.

The host gives a shout out to the Puyallup YMCA gymnastics team and reflects on the value of kids working toward personal bests. He also promotes his free Spanish course at Listen Read Interact for anyone interested in learning Spanish.

The episode closes with a preview of the Cryptid Tattoo and Obscurities Expo at the Washington State Fairgrounds on May 23 and 24. The event includes tattoo contests, bug pinning, taxidermy classes, tooth gem training, artists, seminars, and other strange and obscure attractions.
